About the role:

We are seeking a commercially driven Account Executive to join our team. This role combines Business Development, Account Management, and Project Management responsibilities, with a focus on identifying, developing, and delivering profitable opportunities across our product and service portfolio.

The primary purpose of the role is to plan, direct, and coordinate activities that determine market demand for the organisation’s products and services. The successful candidate will develop and execute marketing and sales strategies to increase market share and profitability, while managing significant customer opportunities from initial engagement through to project completion.


Business Development & Account Management

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and partners
  • Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
  • Develop and implement marketing and sales strategies to expand market share and improve profitability
  • Prepare and deliver compelling value propositions and presentations to customers

Project & Opportunity Management

  • Lead and manage major opportunities through the full lifecycle, including: -Expressions of Interest (EOI), Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and tender submissions and Commercial negotiations and contract finalisation
  • Coordinate internal teams to develop compliant, competitive, and commercially sound solutions
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout project delivery
  • Manage timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion
  • Ensure solutions are delivered in accordance with contractual, quality, and customer requirements

Commercial & Reporting

  • Support pricing strategies, margin management, and commercial decision-making
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and opportunity pipelines
  • Provide regular reporting on business development activity, project progress, and outcomes



About you:

  • Degree qualified in Engineering and/or Civil Construction and Project Management.
  • Certificates in Rail Infrastructure.
  • Extensive knowledge of rail infrastructure products form and function
  • Proven working experience as an engineer, business development manager, project manager, sales executive or a relevant role with more than 10 years Rail Infrastructure experience
  • Proven and demonstrated experience overseeing large projects and resources or multiple teams delivering smaller projects
  • Highly articulate with strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience in managing and forecasting budgets
  • Strong sales results and relationship development
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft, CAD, simulation and analysis software applications
  • Working knowledge of ERP and supply chain processes
